The North Pointe Elementary PTA Board would like to welcome back all of its teachers, faculty, support staff and most of all returning students, new students and their families.

The PTA has a lot in store for the 2015-2016 school year. This year we will be bringing back some of the favorite programs that have always been enjoyed by the students, parents and school personnel.  Familiar programs like: “Reflections”, “Kentucky Kids Day”, “Winter Wonderland” and several new programs to be launched early in the year.  Like “Harvest Festival” and “Watch D.O.G.S.”.  To learn more about “Watch D.O.G.S.” stay tuned in and come to the General Meetings.

There have been several changes to the National PTA, State PTA and Local PTA that I believe will make everyone’s experience in being involved with the PTA more enjoyable and exciting.  In the past parents have been reluctant to join the PTA because of confusion and misunderstanding of what the PTA actually does for the Parents, Teachers and Students.

The PTA is:

  • A powerful voice for all children
  • A relevant resource for families and communities
  • A strong advocate for the education and well-being of every child

The PTA’s purpose is to:

  • Promote the welfare of children in home, school, community and place of worship
  • Raise the standard of home life
  • Secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children
  • Bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children
  • Develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children the highest advantages in physical, mental, social and spiritual education

The PTA is not all about selling stuff or making money. Yes, we do have fundraisers. However, it is not so the PTA can just make money. It is for the education and well-being that every child will have an advocate to speak on their behalf. All the monies that the PTA raises goes right back into the school. Examples: play ground equipment, grounds keeping, snow removal, teachers supplies and specialty programs that promote safety, health and education.

This year make a difference in your child’s education and well-being by joining the PTA.  By joining the PTA, you will have a voice and voting rights as to programs that you wish to see at North Pointe Elementary.  MAKE A DIFFERENCE TODAY.  Join the PTA.
